Since emerging deep from the underground with our now classic debut Slow-Release, Open have grown to become one of the most respected labels to emerge from the Aussie underground dance scene, with a strong following in all corners of the globe, chart success and radio airplay on some of biggest stations on the planet.
The Open Records sound is just that: open to interpretation. Through our diverse range of artists, everyone on the team has a different view on what the Open sound is, or will be, and that is what makes us special. The one thing we all share in common is a love of deep, intelligent, dancefloor-oriented techno and house, designed to rock the dusty festival or sweaty club alike.
Over the years through our CD and digital releases, we have featured the music of some of the world’s finest acts, including Antix/Fiord, King Unique, Erphun, Gary Beck, Kasey Taylor, Matador, Boris Brejcha, Criss Source, Jamie Stevens, SunControlSpecies, MUTe/MUtation & lots more, as well as helping to introduce a new wave of Australian talent including Interpulse, Rex’n'Chappo, Closer Apart, FunkForm and Waltone.
