Fat, fresh and packed full of no-nonsense groove, the original mix of Kuda is a swung techno beast with tricky drops, twisted vibes and a layered, sub-friendly bass that is sure to catch even the stiffest dancefloor off guard. Proving once again why Child is one of Australia’s most exciting new names in electronic music, it’s little wonder his diverse sound has caught the attention of the likes of Trapez Ltd, Tribal Vision, Doppelgaenger and Fever Sound Music.
Backing it up in spectacular style are the Weekend Heroes, delivering their darkest and most rumbling effort since their chart-topping smash Fear Factor, originally released on Plastik Park (but later on Toolroom and Open Records’ smash compilation Expansion Pack). Nothing short of one of the biggest and explosive tracks of the year and a must for DJs across the globe, the Israeli duo round out No.33 in style! Grab it at Beatport here.
Also don’t miss the old-school-stylings-with-new-school-flavour of Child’s Turbo Acid Rave Remix, available as a free download via Soundcloud below.

The Sessions is always one of our favourite shows of the month and we’re stoked he’s given both us and Sensient his support. If you want to check out the show, you can download it from the Soundcloud link below. If you haven’t grabbed a copy of Black Spider yet, it’s available at Beatport here.

You’d be smiling too if you were Sensient. The champagne is again flowing at Open Records HQ tonight, as we celebrate our first ever Beatport No.1 release. Sensient’s Buzz Kill ticked over into the top spot this afternoon (Australian time) and both the whole Open team and the man himself couldn’t be happier. Big thanks to all the massive support around the globe for the tunes… if you haven’t grabbed a copy yet, please get on board here and help us hold down the top spot… it’s the best $5 you’ll ever spend!
]]>It’s not the first release on Open for the Melbourne-based master, who released on our two smash hit compilations Expansion Pack and Depth Perception, but this EP represents the jewel in Sensient’s minimal and techno crown. Normally renowned for his deep and minimal take on progressive psytrance, Buzz Kill shows off Sensient’s techno and minimal-inspired directions, with two huge original tracks that run well over 10 minutes each.
The title track is perhaps the deepest you’ll ever hear Sensient, a true minimal monster packed with his technical style of percucssion and a massive subby groove. Embracing the sound and running with it, the track is without a doubt one of the freshest and most creative minimal tunes of 2012 so far and will no doubt be a hit with DJs and listeners across the globe – look out for those last few minutes!
Black Spider sees Sensient head into slightly heavier and a little bit more traditional territory, but still keeping well within the techno vibe. A grinding beast that is equal parts stripped and complex, it rounds out the EP perfectly running in at a mammoth 13 minutes – a true opus of the Sensient techno sound.
Both tunes continue to deliver right up until the very end, a nod to Sensient’s evolving and progressive approach to his craft. We’re sure you’ll agree that both are truly something special! Stay tuned for more of Sensient’s deeper side on Open soon!
