As the Northern Hemisphere gets colder and Australia begins its charge for summer, Open Records is kicking it into top gear with the release of Matador’s stunning Faberge, featuring remixes by the man of the moment, Gary Beck, alongside Bulgaria’s Mitaka and Australia’s own Waltone. As the second single taken from Woodsman’s smash compilation Expansion Pack, which has already produced two Beatport Techno chart hits in the shape of SQL’s Primitive and Weekend Heroes’ Fear Factor, the Faberge EP is riding a strong wave of momentum into the Australian festival summer season.
Gary’s remix in particular has become hot property for the world’s techno elite, and is getting a smashing by names like Stephan Bodzin, Mihalis Safras, Dave Seaman, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Spektre, Pig & Dan, Jim Rivers, Christian Smith and loads more. It’s also featured on Slovenian techno king Tomy DeClerque’s monthly My Chart radio show on Proton, Pablo Demonio on Klubbers FM, Joseph Capriati’s special mix to celebrate Dr Hoffman’s Blind Spot Radio Show in the UK, Marco Baily’s RA Chart and is a monthly feature release on India’s top electronic music radio station RADIO79.
Moving to their new home of Press & Play distribution, also home to labels like 1605, Code, Respekt and more, the Faberge EP positions Open as one of Australia’s premiere dance imprints and a force to be reckoned with on the international stage. Stay tuned for Erphun’s Seenaak EP on November 8, featuring remixes by King Unique & Sheff!
