Open Records notches up our 20th digital release in February and to celebrate, we’ve got a little something special up our sleeve to mark the occasion. Israeli artists MUTe are no strangers to the international dance scene, but have recently found a home for their more techno-infused productions here on Open Records. Signalling a strong direction for Open Records in 2011, this remix package of MUTe’s stunning track Modern Talk, originally released on Woodsman’s compilation Expansion Pack, counts itself as one of our most ambitious and innovative releases yet and a must-have for any discerning fan of techno or minimal.
Continuing their long association with Open Records, New Zealand masters Fiord deliver the first remix, with a winding, space-age techno interpretation that is perfect for the sweaty backroom or festival alike. Descending into even deeper and darker territory is Ireland’s Matador, who follows up his stunning track Faberge on Open Records in 2010 (our highest selling digital release in history) with another pulsing techno monster that utilises MUTe’s original lead synth to great effect.
Closing out the release is minimal’s man of the moment Roy RosenfelD. With long runs at the top of the Beatport charts in both minimal and deep house, this Israeli producer can count himself as one of the hottest producers on the international scene in the new year and a welcome addition to the Open Records roster. A massive thanks from all the team at Open Records for following us for this far, and we look forward to delivering more quality music into 2011 and beyond.
