One of Far North Queensland’s favourite festivals returns for a ninth year from July 29-30, with an expanded late-night program and new venue in the shape of The Billabong. Kuranda Roots Festival is a bastion of reggae, roots and bass culture, having in the past featured names like The Mad Professor, Opiuo, Olmecha Supreme, Kingfisha, Kooii, Dubmarine, Zennith, Hot Rubber Glove, Afro DizziAct, The Beautiful Girls, Ash Grunwald, Archie Roach, Kingtide, The Dynamic Thrills and The Nomad. This year, the new new late-night soundsystem means there will be even be a bit of 4/4 action and Open Records is proud to announce that Waltone, Uzi and Jesse Kuch will be featured as part of this year’s bill (set times are here). The full line-up for 2012 is on the poster below… we’re sure you’ll agree it’s going to be a huge year! See you there NQ!
