We Were People, in conjunction with Open Records are proud to present the Tasmanian launch party of Expansion Pack, the smashing two disc compilation by label boss Woodsman.
Featuring 20 tracks by some of the best names in electronic music, including Erphun, Matador, Sensient, SunControlSpecies, Grouch, One Tasty Morsel, Algenon, SQL, Weekend Heroes and loads more, Expansion Pack is currently doing Australia proud hitting the charts on Beatport and Psyshop and getting smashed by radio and DJs around the globe.
In the new home of Syrup nightclub, We Were People will deliver another wicked night of the deepest tunes this side of the Bass Strait, featuring the Expansion man himself, Ian Woodsman.
No stranger to Tasmanian crowds, Ian always delivers where it counts the most, the soundsystem, with a smashing mix of psychedelic techno and minimal straight from the Open Records vault that is guarenteed to move even the toughest dancefloor.
Another treat on the night is Tasmania’s own Shammie, perhaps better known for his Pspiralife project on Zenon Records.
Shammie recently connected with newly established Cairns label NoQualms and will play a DJ set featuring the freshest tunes from his collection, showing a slightly different side to his musical persona.
Also supported by We Were People residents Adusk, Tristan and Samex, come celebrate We Were People’s move to a new home with one of the CD release parties of the year. More info soon!
>> We Were People is at Syrup Nightclub on Saturday, October 16. Entry is $10, with double disc Expansion Pack compilations available on the night for the launch special of $25.
