FunkForm - Comes And Goes

Open Records is proud to announce the first of many releases in 2013 from hometown hero and label artist FunkForm, with Comes And Goes. Featuring three all-original tracks from the fast-rising Cairns producer, it’s further proof he’s one of Australia’s most exciting new names in electronic music and sets the stage for his stunning album release later this year.

FunkForm has certainly been off to a cracking start in 2013. His recent release on Vapour Recordings charted in both Tech-House and Techno in Beatport’s Top100 releases, and Fuscia featured in both D-Nox and Luir Junior’s April mixes on Soundcloud. Add to this big support from legendary names like John Digweed, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Kasey Taylor and Hernan Cattaneo (who featured two tracks on his Metrodance radio show), you can be sure that FunkForm is truly one to watch in 2013.

For those more familiar with the deeper side of the FunkForm sound, Comes And Goes might come as a little bit of a shock… lucky it’s a good one! Nothing short of epic, it’s still got the atmospheric and melodic touches you’ve come to expect, but turns up the drive to deliver a storming 11-minute mainfloor monster that will no doubt earn FunkForm a new legion of fans.

Ride It Out is slightly more hypnotic but no less effective in its approach, pulling back the pace slightly without losing its sense of urgency. Winding frequencies carry home this masterclass in melodics, setting the stage for the big closer Same Shit Different Day, a classic emotive progressive house groover sure to please the old-school heads.
