Open Records is proud to welcome talented Melbourne duo Moodmachine to the family in 2013.

MoodMachine is Joel Kino, 28, and Ray Zed, 26, from Melbourne, Australia. Both Joel and Ray have been active in the Melbourne electronic music scene for several years, both as DJ’s and producers. In 2009, they joined forces to form MoodMachine with the aim of fusing elements from deep house, tech-house, techno, nu disco and everything funky or groovy.

Since then, they have built themselves into one of Melbourne’s most exciting live and production teams, performing alongside D-Nox & Beckers, Gabe, Marcello V.O.R., Koze, Henry Saiz, Boris Brejcha, Heinrichs and Hirtenfellner, Antix/Fiord, Kasey Taylor, SQL, Secret Cinema, Nico Stojan, Acid Pauli & NU, Peter Horrevorts, Egbert, Kasey Taylor, King Unique, Juan Atkins and Gabriel Ananda; and at festivals such as Eclipse 2012, Rainbow Serpent, Strawberry Fields, Maitreya and Earthcore. Both Joel and Ray have also DJ’d across the world, including in Israel, India, Thailand and Spain.

Moodmachine released their debut release on Australia/Berlin-based label Smash Bang Records in April, 2011. They have upcoming released locked in on labels like Chameleon Recordings, Smash Bang, Bamboo and or course, Open Records. On the stage, they are known for their unique sounding live sets which cross genres, tempos and emotions. Stay tuned for the first release from Moodmachine and Open Records very soon!
