Northern Alliance with SQL + Grouch

Open Records is joining forces with our good friends and fellow Cairns label No Qualms next Friday night to deliver our first indoor night of tunes for 2011. Returning to our old stomping ground of Casbah (aka Fabric, Cadence, Soho, Club 59, Johnno’s Blues Bar…) to present a bumper night of fat tunes, featuring not one, but two international acts direct from both Earth Freq and Rainbow Serpent Festival. SQL out of The Netherlands  is one of the world’s hottest new names in techno, minimal and tech-house, with a Beatport No.1 under his belt and releases on some of the biggest labels in the business. SQL’s has a long history releasing music with Open Records, including the smash hit single Primitive, from Ian Woodsman’s compilation Expansion Pack. Grouch from New Zealand completes the international billing, after putting the finishing touches on his album Further on UP Records. Grouch’s track Who The F#ck Is Gordon Bennet? also featured on Expansion Pack. Completing the bill is Zenon Records artist One Tasty Morsel, No Qualms artists Jekyl and Legacy and Open Records own Waltone and Suspekt (playing a special birthday set). Kicking off at 9pm, doors are open right through until 5am, so there is no reason not to come rock out!
