Open Record and Earth Frequency Festival are proud to announce a new event concept for the Brisbane techno scene: OPEN:SOURCE.
With Open Records label boss Jesse Kuch relocating from Cairns to Brisbane last year, a collaboration with longterm Brisbane-based label DJ and promoter Paul Abad was inevitable. Together they are launching OPEN:SOURCE as a new concept event aimed at bringing the world’s most innovative techno artists to Brisbane and combining them with the high-quality production and soundsystems they deserve.
Rather than setting a weekly or monthly schedule or picking one venue or format, OPEN:SOURCE will pick only select dates throughout the year, when the stars align and we can secure something special … and for our first offering, we sure you’ll agree we’ve delivered on our promise!
Pioneering German techno legend Stephan Bodzin is one of the most in-demand and influential electronic music artists on the planet. A master of melodic, emotional techno and a innovative live performer with two laptops, controllers, Moog synth and visuals set, Bodzin represents the pinnacle of modern techno performance by making the best use of digital software and the classic analogue sound.
OPEN:SOURCE:01 will take place at one of Brisbane’s premier venues, The TBC Club, which boasts an in-house Funktion 1 sound system, an underground bunker vibe and a strict limited capacity. Added for the night will be full-colour LED screens for the Bodzin visual show to ensure a fully immersive dancefloor experience unlike anything else this year.
Earlybird tickets sold out in less than 48 hours, so we recommend getting in early to ensure you don’t miss out. General release tickets are on sale now at moshtix.com.au.
